My client’s an integrated agency who deliver full 360 solutions for a varied client-base that includes fmcg, drinks and automotive. They’re a good agency and their CD is one of the best in their space.
They’ve identified a design skills gap that they’re hoping can filled through the hiring of someone who is a bit of a design hybrid. They are looking to meet someone who comes via a classic graphic design grounding, with all the skills and craft that this bring (great sense of typography for instance, a well as an intrinsic understanding of layout, composition, retouching and artwork, etc.), but who is also something of a digital evangelist and deliverer (who can work in Flash for instance, who relishes applying their craft across digital media too).
The candidate coming on board will help shape the agency’s design offer and need to be hands on, working hand in hand with both the ECD and the Digital CD. It’s very definitely an evolving agency offering, with a good, current, creative product.
Realistically the role will require someone coming on board to have at least 4 years agency plus and a genuine desire to muck in. A ‘can-do’, solutions orientated approach is an absolute prerequisite, as is a strong design portfolio that demonstrates both craft and digital implementation.

In my past life I have worked both for agencies and clientside in senior client service & marketing positions. I have gained extensive integrated marcomms and campaign experience - particularly within the financial services, not-for-profit, B2B, travel and FMCG sectors.
In addition to my day job, I also work with advertising degree students, coaching them on portfolio preparation, interview training and best practice networking. And I am currently studying for my coaching diploma, so that I am able to offer an even deeper & accredited service.
